Nintendo clears up some of those mysterious Patents

A little while back people were getting excited about a few copyrights Nintendo posted, well I emailed them to find out what was up. Apparently, nothing much!

The "Wii Handle" is allegedly just the Wii Zapper- major letdown there considering most were hoping this was Nintendo's answer to Msoft's Gamertag.

When inquired about the "Soma Bringer" I was told there are no plans to bring it to any Nintendo platform. Hit the jump for the full reply email. Check back here for more on Wii Magic and other patents

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

Just to let you know, there are no plans to bring Soma Bringer to any of our systems. Will it happen in the future? You never know what the future might hold, so keep checking our website's news section (www.nintendo.com/newsmain) for the latest information and announcements.

Once a game has been officially announced, our website's Game List (http://www.nintendo.com/gamelist) represents the best place to find the most accurate release dates. Once there, click "Show advanced filtering" and use the dropdown menus to narrow your search based on system, publisher, number of players, etc.

When you have filtered your search, click on the game's title to see all the available information. If what you seek is not yet available, please check back later. When there is new information to share on announced games or other upcoming products, our website is the best official source!

Remember, any posted release dates are estimates and subject to change. As a product's estimated release date approaches, you may wish to check with your local retailers to see when it may be available in your area.

Now, there is a "Wii handle" in development. It's called (tentatively), the Wii Zapper. So far, there is no release date for this accessory. When it is, our website (www.nintendo.com) will be the best place to find it.

By the way, while you are at our site, be sure to check out the My Nintendo section. Not only does this allow you to monitor the progress of any repairs or part orders that you may have, it also gives you access to the Nintendo Forums where you can interact with other players. Here you can discuss games and systems, and possibly obtain key game play information. Take a look. I think that you will find it helpful.

RUMOURPhobia: New Nintendo Hardware coming

This has been in circulation for a little while now and I held off posting about it, but the evidence just keeps rolling in. A while back a rumour surfaced saying that at e3 Nintendo was going to announce Mario Kart Wii and some new hardware. At first people were saying "OMGAMEBOY!" but lets get serious. Nintendo would never announce a new Game boy this early in the DS' life cycle, especially considering that the DS is selling better than anything out there right now.

Hit the jump for some more rumoured hardware

Now to get to the ones with some actual evidence behind them. GoNintendo Is reporting that they think a blue and pink version of the Wii remote is on the way, check the image:
A more exciting rumour though, coming from Kotaku land (and the mind of just about any level headed fanboy) would be the one that claims Nintendo will be announcing a Harddrive for their miracle seller. I don't think I'd be stretching it if I said that an HDD is a MUST. Wouldn't be surprised if this came true, in fact I- like many others, am hoping it is.

RUMOURphobia: EA is at it again! UPDATE

Courtesy of IGN, we see that EA is okay with a GC game still being the best looking wii title around.

EA has a date with Nintendo on May 9th. GoNintendo is reporting that on this day EA will announce some exclusive Wii titles. Hopefully it's some brand new stuff, new IPs and what not, just please, for the love of god...no more mini game compilations.

Let's think about this for a minute. We know about EA's rythme game, Boogie, we know that they aren't due for another sports game for a while, not that it would be exclusive to Wii anyways, so what could it be? To be honest, I'm sort of hoping that they do a really cool sci-fi 3rd person shooter, thats online. Is that too much to ask for?

UPDATE
It would seem that it IS too much to ask for.- IT IS A MINI GAME COMPILATION! essentially. EA has announced (early?) the new IP; EA Playground. Seems they're taking a page from Nintendo's book in putting 'EA' in the title. Apparently it recreates all the fun it is to be a kid. Lets get this online...ah hell, I'll never play it anyways... Hit Kotaku up for the full story.
